Hello! My name is Shelby Thomas (he/him). I am a Library Information Specialist at the Health Sciences Library located in the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).
I am fascinated by the organization of information. I enjoy learning about new and innovative organizational concepts and theories that govern the way we arrange, store and access resources. I have particular interest in the time-tested cooperative cataloging project known as the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) and maintain deep and broad interest in the practical implementation of metadata schemas in general.
I hold a Masters of Library Science from Emporia University.
